Viviparous Animals:
Among animals, viviparity is development of the embryo inside the body of the parent, eventually leading to live birth, as opposed to reproduction by laying eggs that complete their incubation outside the parental body. Viviparity and the adjective viviparous derive from Latin vivus and parire.
Oviparous Animals:
Oviparous animals are animals that reproduce by laying eggs. This is how most fish, amphibians, reptiles, insects, and arachnids reproduce. All birds and monotremes also reproduce like this. The eggs that of most animals that live on land are protected by hard shells.
