.The basic tenets of political theory can never die. Like all social sciences, political theory too is undergoing changes through constant evolution over the ages. Economic interests of nation states is influencing political theory in a big way today. We have in recent times been witness to an unwieldy USSR breaking up, along with a large part of Eastern Europe, into smaller and more efficiently run Governments. We have also been observing how private enterprise has become one of the prime movers of Communist China's economy. The rigidity in political beliefs is fast vanishing; it is being replaced by pragmatism.
