let diameter of moon is d
so, diameter of earth is 4d
now,
volume of earth =4/3π(4d/2)^3=16/3πd^3
volume of moon =4/3π(d/2)^3=πd^3/3

fraction= (16/3πd^3)/(πd^3/3)
=16

fathimao8: but formula is 4/3 πr^3 na
fathimao8: then how we can use diameter
abhi178: yes you are right
fathimao8: sorry i got it
abhi178: but diameter/2=radiius
fathimao8: ya
abhi178: so, 4/3πr^3=4/3π(d/2)^3
abhi178: good

⇒ Let the diameter of the earth be d metre.

⇒ And, the diameter of moon is d/4 metre.

⇒ V1 = Volume of earth

⇒ V2 = Volume of moon

⇒ Volume of sphere = 4/3 π (r^3)

⇒ V1 = 4/3π(d/2)^3

⇒ V1 = π/6(d)^3

⇒ V2 = 4/3π(d/8)^3

⇒ V2 = π/384(d)^3

⇒ V1/V2

⇒ 1/64
