Bent (v-shaped)

Note how many electrons you have:

P=5

H=1 (x2)=2

=>adding 5+2=7

BUT since you have an one negative charge, then that means that you have an extra electron making the molecule more negative, therefore, you add one more electron to our previous sum.

7+1=8

having a total of 8 electrons.

Then, Phosphorus is our central atom, with 1 bond per hydrogen (so 2 bonds), which equals to 4 electrons, then we have 4 more left, then we simply add them to the Phosphorus. And this creates the V-shape.
