When seeds are planted with out proper spacing there tends to be a competition for oxygen, water and nutrients. This will result in all the saplings dying due to lack of resources and may lead to extinction of that plant spices. So plants over generations have evolved to have different methods of seed dispersal to secure and increase the chances of their survival.
