Well no when we talk about diplomacy changing in the 21st century then it does not has to change. Diplomacy basically is a negotiation between political affairs that are carried out internationally and so interacting with political figures face to face is much better rather than using the advanced technology. Though we are living in the modern era and are aware of the advanced technologies but what is better than interacting with people face to face on something important such as the  political affairs

If you are asking about the technical means of diplomacy, obviously. We are in the digital age with huge improvements in communications, data analysis, and unimaginable new issues. How do we manage international cyber crime, trade in information, and the continued effects of globalization. We have many new issues. Super good communications have a huge downside; they tempt national politicians into thinking that they can just pick up the phone and negotiate. Politicians have this enormous ego that makes them believe that they know everything better than anyone else. Trump is worse in degree but not different.
