 {41}^{2}  =  {40}^{2}  +  {ad}^{2}

1681 = 1600 +  {ad}^{2}

 {ad}^{2}  = 1681 - 1600 \\  {ad}^{2}  = 81 \\  ad =  \sqrt{81}  \\ ad = 9

now find area by formula of area of trapezium

area =  \frac{1}{2}  \times hight \times (sum \: of \: base)

 =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 9 \times (40 + 15) \\  =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 9 \times 55 \\  =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 495 \\  = 247.5
