\bf{\underline{Question:-}}

each side of rhombus is 15 cm and the length of one of its diagonal is 24 cm the area of rhombus is.

\bf{\underline{Given:-}}

  • Each side of rhombus = 15cm
  • length of one it's diagonal is 24cm

  • Area = ?

\bf{\underline{Solution:-}}

∆BPC is a right angled triangle

So,

By Pythagoras Thereom

\bf → PC^2 = BC^2 - BP^2

\bf → PC^2 = 15^2 - 12^2

\bf → PC^2 = 225 - 144

\bf → PC^2 = 81

\bf → PC = \sqrt{81}

\bf → PC = 9cm

AC diagonal = 2 × PC

Ac diagonal = 2 × 9 = 18cm

\bf {\underline{Therefore:-}}

Area of rhombus = 1/2 × AC × BD

Area = 1/2 × 18 × 24

Area = 1 × 18 × 12

Area = 216 \sf cm^2

\bf{\underline{Hence:-}}

  • Area of rhombus = 216\bf cm^2
