Proteins and amino acids play a very important role in the formation of various enzymes in our body and also in the regulation of normal metabolism. It is also responsible for the growth of muscles in our body, which is valid for both humans as well as other animals.

Amino acids are essential for growth and nitro balance, hence are considered building blocks for proteins in all animals.

A good example is the essentiality of both essential and nonessential amino acids in any animal’s diet, including a dog: examples include glutamate, glutamine and aspartate are good for metabolism in the intestine for proper digestive function and maintaining integrity of the intestinal mucosa; another example is good immunity, fertility, neurotransmission and even gene expression are all greatly supported with the presence of nonessential amino acids such as glycine, glutamate, proline, arginine and glutamine.
