Centrolecithal

Centrolecithal describes the placement of the yolk in the centre of the cytoplasm of ovums. Many arthropod eggs are centrolecithal. Homolecithal egg is an egg in which the total amount of yolk is small. The yolk is distributed among the cytoplasm. Small eggs with little yolk are called as microlecithal. Human egg is alecithal meaning no yolk.
