Digestive enzymes are released, or secreted, by the organs of the digestive system. These enzymes include proteases that digest proteins, and nucleases that digest nucleic acids.

Pepsin- Breaks protein into small peptides

Pancreatic lipase- Degrades triglycerides into fatty acids and glycerol

Trypsin- Converts proteins to basic amino acids
Steapsin- Breakdown of triglycerides to glycerol and fatty acids

Sucrase- Converts sucrose to disaccharides and monosaccharides
Maltase- Converts maltose to glucose
Lactase- Converts lactose to glucose and galactose
