APJ ABDUL KALAM was India's distinguished scientist and one of the greatest personalities who has ignited and inspired the minds of mllions of young Indians. He was responsible for the development of India's first satellite launch vehicle . He is credited for development of strategic missiles like Nag , Trishul and Agni. He pioneered India vision 2020, road map for transforming India into an economically developed nation. Kalam held various positions in the Indian Space Research Organisation and the Defence Research and development organisation. He was also instrumental in ensuring self- reliance in nuclear weapons having been entrusted by our Ex - Prime Minister Vajpayee to conduct Pokhran - 2 nuclear tests in collaboration with Department Of Atomic Energy . He was The President of India between 2002 and 2007 and was awarded honorary doctorates from 38 universities and the countries three civilian honors Padma Bhushan [ 1981 ] , Padma Vibhusan [1990] and Bharat Ratna [1997] .
Kalam's most significant works are WINGS OF FIRE, INDIA 2020, A VISION FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM , TARGET 3 BILLION AND BEYOND 2020: A VISION FOR TOMORROW'S INDIA . His ideas are far too vast and his vision too deep to be summarised or qualified in a small stretch of pages by a humble student like me .He ignited new thoughts and encouraged new actions and taught me that all failures howsoever immense are only temporary.
