to examine that we have to sub x=2 and 5=y as their coordinate is (2,5)
3(2)-5=1
6-5=1
1=1
since lhs =rhs,(2,5)lies on the grapof the equation 3x-y=1

If the points (2, 5) lie on the graph of the equation then the LHS should be equal to the RHS
Taking x = 2 and Y= 5
L.H.S=3(2)-5= 6-5=1
R.H.S=1
So as LHS is equal to RHS so the points lie on the graph of the equation
