find the largest number which divides 285 and 1249 leaving remainder 9 and 7 realectively

I have no time to give u the full ans...but i can tell the process...-First subtract 285 and 1249 with 9 and 7 resp than find the HCF of the no.s u will get by substraction.. Taht will be your final ans

first step ,
subtract 285 by 9 = 276,
subtract 1249 by 7 =1242

second step find there h.c.f by any method you wish (I am using Euclid's division lemma)

1242=276×4+138
276=138×2+0

thus, the h.c.f is 138.

So the no. which devides 285 and 1249 by leaving remainder 9 and 7 respectively is 138.
