It states that in steady, ideal flow and in compressible liquid the total energy at any point of fluid is constant. This total energy consist of pressure energy, kinetic energy and potential or datum head.

later he derives a equation for these energy per unit weight of fluid and named it Bernoulli’s Equation which is a very useful tool for the calculations of various fluid mechanics prioblem.

Bernoulli’s Theorem basically relates the pressure, velocity, and elevation in a moving fluid (liquid or gas), the compressibility and viscosity (internal friction) of which are negligible and the flow of which is steady, or laminar.

It can be used to calculate pressure or velocity of the fluid :
eg.. Airflight, baseball

dy/dx +Py=Qy^n. This is in maths
Z1 +v1^2/2g+p1/w = Z2 + v2^2/2g + p2/w This is in fluid mechanics

In fluid dynamics, Bernoulli's principle states that an increase in the speed of a fluid occurs simultaneously with a decrease in static pressure or a decrease in the fluid's potential energy. The principle is named after Daniel Bernoulli who published it in his book Hydrodynamica in 1738.
