because chlorophyll forms the essential pigments of the green plants that helps in the process of photosynthesis.plants prepare food by this process. 

the herbivore feeds on these plants and in turn they are eaten up by the carnivores like tiger and lion.hence alternatively if there was no chlorophyll there would ha
ve been no plants and no herbivore animal.if there were no herbivore the carnivores would eventually starve and die
