the gas release from burning of fuel petrol etc. goes into air and mixed with air and acid forms. when rain comes acid also come down and cause acid rain . example - it lead to skin diseases such as skin cancer.

Because when they are burnt, oxides of sulphur and nitrogen are formed in the atmosphere and dissolve in the moisture and falls down as acid rain. acid rain is harmful for crops,buildings & for soil. hope it help u
