co2 forms a layer above oxygen . this process blocks the supply of oxgen as oxgen i an essential requirement for fire ,if its supply is blocked then the fire will be controlled

CO2 is heavier than O2 and therefore cover The Fire. the fire cutting supply of photo from all sides in absence of oxygen the fire can be control in fire extinguisher CO2 is stored in liquid form under high pressure the monument of pressure is realised it expands to cover the fire and also cools down the temperature of the inflammable substances
