The mechanism will be comprised of following steps :

1 ) Protonation .

2 ) Production of secondary carbocation by elimination of H2O .

3 ) Re - arrangement of less stable structure to more stable by hydride shift .

4 ) Formation of 2 - bromo - 2 - methylbutane .
