Dry farming is the soil conservation measure applicable to the deserts.  Deserts have hot humid climates with very low rainfall.  Dry farming can be practiced in other dry regions with less or no rainfall.  It is very useful in retaining the moisture present in the soil.  Dry farming also conserves the nutrients present in the soil and maintains its fertility.
