Soil profile

Explanation:

The arrangement of the soil particles in layers is termed to be a soil profile. Each layer comprises a different layer with different particles in it.

The soil profile consists of three layers.

  1. The first is A-Horizon in which the organic materials are piled up. It is also known as topsoil. The organic matters include microorganisms, earthworms, decomposed parts of plants.
  2. The second is B-Horizon in which the soil is less humus. The soil is harder but is rich in minerals. It is also known as Subsoil.
  3. The third is C-Horizon in which only stones and rocks are present. It consists of the earth's bedrock. It is also known as Bedrock.
