Ant bites insert acid in body, which results for the itching.

Calamine solution is basic in nature so, it will thier neutralize the effect of acid if sting, and Hence, gives us relief.

Calamine solution is applied on the skin when an ant bites. Ant stings contain formic acid. When someone gets bitten by an ant, the formic acid is injected through the skin. It starts to cause pain.

As the Calamine solution contain a base element called Zinc Carbonate, after applying it the effects of acid starts to wear off as Calamine solution neutralize the effects of acid.
