Explain with example air is affected by temperature
Answers
Answer:
Air pressure is influenced by temperature because, as the air is warmed, the molecules start moving around more, so they bump into each other more often and create more pressure. But, air pressure also affects temperature - the more those molecules bump into each other, the more heat they generate.
Explanation:
Air is affected by temperature in the following way -
• The temperature and air pressure relationship :
- The air pressure and the temperature of the air are directly proportional with each other.
- Which means, the warm air will generate more pressure than the cold air.
- This happens because, the warm has more amount of energy it it which increases it's pressure applying capabilities than the cold air.
• Temperature and density relationship :
- Unlike the pressure, the density of the air is inversely proportional to the temperature of the air.
- The warm air has less density because the molecules of the warm air have enough energy to maintain adequate distance from each other, which decreases the density of air.
- And,the reverse thing is applicable for the cold air.
• Example :
The hot air balloon works on the principle of the air density- air temperature relationship. The hot air inside the balloon is lighter than the external environment's cold air.
This makes possible the flight of the hot air balloon.
