Find the area and side of a square, the length of whose diagonal is 72 cm

Area of square = {(Diagonal)^2}÷2

= (72×72)÷2 sq. cm.

= 5184÷2 sq. cm.

= 2592 sq. cm Answer

we \: know \: that

area \: of \: square =  \frac{ {(diagonal)}^{2} }{2}

area \: of \: square =  \frac{ {72}^{2} }{2}

area \: of \:square =  \frac{5184}{2}
therefore,

area \: of \: square = 2592 {cm}^{2}

we \: know \: that

area \: of \: square =  {(side)}^{2}

2592=  {(side)}^{2}

by taking square root to both sides

we get,


36 \sqrt{2}cm = side \: of \: square
therefore,

the area of square is 2592 sq .cm and side is 36√2 cm.
