a square card board of size 24 cm.

Area of square = S^2

                          = 24^2

                         = 576sq.cm

Area of the sector= (1/4) * pi * r^2

                              = 0.25 * 3.14 * 24^2

                             = 452.16 sq.cm

 Area of cardboard wasted is = 576 - 452.16

                                                 = 123.84 sq.cm
