Answer:

HEY!

In the larger circle O is tge center and 0B = OC = OA = OD = RADIUS = 14 cm

In the quadrant OAD,

area of the shaded region = area of quadrant OAD - area of semicircle (diameter OD)

= pi × 14 × 14 × 1/4 - pi × 7 × 7 × 1/2

= 154 - 77

= 77 cm sq.

Similarly in quadrant OBD,

Area of shaded region = area of semicicle (diameter OB)

= pi × 7×7 ×1/2 = 77cm sq.

TOTAL AREA OF SHADED REGION IN SEMICIRCLE (BDA) = 77 + 77 = 154 cm sq.

SIMILARLY,

Total area of semicircle (BCA) = 154 cm sq.

°, TOTAL AREA OF SHADED REGION IN THE LARGER CIRCLE (with centre O)

= 154×2 = 308 cm sq.

SO THE ANSWER IS 308 cm sq.
