==> 14 - 2x + 7x - x² / 20 + 5x - 4x - x² = 1
==> 14 + 5x - x² = 20 + 5x - 4x - x²
==> 14 + 5x - x² = 20 + x - x²
==> 14 - 20 + 5x - x = -x² +x²
==> -6 + 4x = 0
==> 4x = 6
==> x = 6/ 4
==> x = 3/2 is the required answer.

Firstly I solved the brackets
Then I shifted the denominator to RHS
And then just solved it
