Just use the formula of magnitude form of addition of two vectors I.e. (a+b)^2=a^2+b^2+2abcos(theta).
If theta is zero then you get the same thing a^2+b^2+2ab.
If theta is zero then you get the same thing a^2+b^2+2ab.
