The functions of gibberellins are as follows:

Gibberellins promote flowering in long day plants.

They are helpful in breaking seed dormancy.

They also promote seed germination.

Gibberellins are helpful in inducing parthenocarpy.

They are helpful in overcoming genetic dwarfness.

Gibberellins are useful in promoting the growth of the plants.

They are also useful in in increasing sugar yield in sugarcane.

Gibbereline is a plant hormone .

Hormones are chemicals that are secreted in a place in body of an organisms and produce effects at other part. They help in chemical co-ordination.

There are three types of plant hormones :-

1) Auxin
2) Gibberelines
3) Cytokinins

The function of gibbereline is :-

1) It increases the growth of the girth of the plant.

2) They also help in stem growth, germination, flower formation and other things.


3) They are also called "Plant growth promoters" as they promote the growth of plant.

4) It also help in increasing tallness of a plant.

5) The function the same as growth hormone secreted in human body. The only difference is they are secreted in plants.
