The meninges and Cerebrospinal fluid, shortly called as CSF are the parts present in the brain.
Function of meninges:
- It acts as guard which protects the brain as well as spinal cord from sudden mechanical injury.
- It acts as bridge through which the blood flows from skull to other hemispheres of the brain.
- It is the region which facilitates the flow of CSF through it.
Function of CSF:
- The wastes produced in the brain are removed through this fluid like structure.
- It protects the important organs namely brain and spinal cord from trauma.
- It provides and supplies required nutrient to the proper functioning of the nervous system.
