1.Rainfall is unevenly distributed in India because of several reasons: Rainfall depend upon various climatic features. For example, the presence of mountains affect the distribution of rainfall. The moisture laden winds when strike the windward side of the mountains.

2.north west monsoon winds blow during winter season . they blow from land to sea. as they pass over bay of bengal , they pick up moisture and cause rain to the coromandel coast(tamil nadu) . ... hence, most of the india remains dry during north western monsoon
