Boys are considered as important and are given more importance cause the mentality of the people says that the boys carry on the tradition of their family and they are the only source of income for the parents.

Boys are emotional handlers as believed.
Moreover boys are physically healthy and stable.
So,boys work and earn money.
And money which is needed for running a family made people to give more importance to one who earn it
