the perimeter of the garden is assumed to be 2( l + b)

hence half the perimeter will be only ( l +b )

given that the length is 4 more than the width so... l = 4 +b

hence .... according to the question ( 4 + b+b ) = 36

4 +2b = 36

2b = 32

b = 16m

hence l = 16 +4 = 20 m

Let dimensions of garden be (x+4) m by x m

So, 1/2*2(x+x+4)  = 36
or, 2x + 4 = 36
or, 2x = 32
or, x = 16

So, dimensions of garden are 20cm by 16cm
