According to me cheese, butter etc. have more cost than milk because we need more processes and hard work to make cheese, butter etc. while we have only to get milk from cows and buffalo but after getting this milk we need some more processes for making cheese, butter etc. And due to these extra processes and more hard work than getting milk as compared to getting butter and cheese, the price of cheese and butter is higher than milk.
I try my best to give this answer.
So, I hope it will help you ^_^
Yes, it is true
The milk products cost is much more then a milk.
Basiclly we need cream of milk for a butter and we have to remove the extra water or cream from milk by diffrent process (like centrifugation)
After that same amount of milk become very less in quantity.
For other products like, paneer/cheese, Ghee etc. we basically remove the water by using lemon(citric acid) , boiling respectively to remove water.
As we know, water cost nothing in front of pure milk So, after removing water the quantity of milk become very less and it makes products price high.
some other resons are:-
Taxes (Gst) on a products.
Transport cost
Lavel marketing (producers → Manufactures → wholsellers → retailers)

Hope it helps you to understand
