When the river frilom the Himalayas move down towards the plains it brings with it soil particles and these soil particles get collected on the banks of the river and form the plains.

An alluvial plain are largely flat platform created by deposition of sediment over a long period of time by 1 or more rivers coming from highland regions, from which Alluvial soil formed.... various creeks will carry the water farther to a river, lake, bay or ocean.
