Fats are digested in the small intestine. The secretion of liver, called bile, breaks down the large globules of fat into smaller globules. ... The bile also makes the medium alkaline so that the pancreatic enzyme containing lipase further digest fats to form fatty acids.

  • Fats are digested in our body in the small intestine.

  • Fats entering in the small intestine are in the form of large globules.

  • The digestion of fats completes in the following steps :

i) Bile salts break large globules into small globules.

ii) Pancreatic juice secreted by pancreas has enzymes lipase which breaks down the emulsified fats.

iii) Enzymes secreted from the walls of small intestine finally converts fats into fatty acids.
