viruses :
1. They have a proteins coat.
2. the genetic materials may be either DNA or RNA. 
3. They can infect plants ,animals and bacteria . 
viroids :
1. they do not have a proteins coat .
2. the genetic material is RNA .
3. They can infect only plants

virus consist of nucleic acid surrounded by the protein shell ,scientifically called caspids .

viroids consist of RNA ,so they are kind like viruses only.
