The story ' the two gentlemen of Verona ' by A. J. Cronin revolves around the selfeless actions of two teenagers, Nicola and Jacopo. Both of them have all essential virtues of a gentleman. The German invasion ruined their comfortable life and left them orphaned, homeless and starving. Lucia, their elder sister contracted tuberculosis of spine. The boys shouldered the responsibility of taking care of her treatment and its expenses. They worked very hard and did various jobs to earn money. They didn't let the world know their misfortunes. They never gave up and for all the obstacles, they faced it with courage and determination. Even war could not destroy their positive spirit. Their sacrificing nature, selfless nature, dignity, devotion and their willingness to do any work etc,.brings a new nobility to human life and gave promise a greater hope for human society...
