How does chief seattle strikes a note of reconciliation towards the white peoples

Seattle, being the Chief of a tribe felt that white people in cities lived a life of a disconnect with nature and when they asked him so sell his land, he is unable to make peace with the thought that land is something that can be owned and possessed by people. However, he tries to reconcile with the thought and addresses them as brothers who would take care of the land and every other bounty of nature even when none of their tribe survives. He wants them to take care of the flora and fauna of the land which they would think was free for them to own, but the relation of  their tribe with the land can never be lost, not even after their death.
