how does rainfall in north west india differ from coastal area of east india in winter

Winter Rainfall in West India is caused by Western Disturbances originating from the Mediterranean Sea.
Whereas, the Winter Rainfall in Eastern coastal areas is caused by the North-East Monsoon originating from the Indian Mainland which picks up moisture from the Bay Of Bengal.
