They are classified into two types:-
(i) Synthetic fibre:- made by human beings for example nylon, etc.
(ii) Natural fibres:- made made naturally... for example:- silk, cotton, jute, etc....

Fibers are divided into natural and human-made fibers according to their origin. Natural fibers constitute of vegetable fiber, wood fiber, animal fiber, mineral fiber, and biological fibers. Human-made fibers include Semi-synthetic fibers, Cellulose regenerated fibers, Synthetic fibers, Metallic fibers, Carbon fiber, Silicon carbide fiber, Polymer fibers, and Microfibers.
