How many uniforms can be stitched from 47 1/4 metres of cloth if each scout requires 2 1/4 metres for one uniform?

SOLUTION :
Given :
Length of the cloth = 47 ¼ = 189/4 m
Each scout requires cloth for 1 uniform = 2 ¼ = 9/4m

Number of uniforms stitched = Length of the cloth /Each scout requires cloth for 1 uniform

Number of uniforms stitched =( 189/4) /(9/4)

Number of uniforms stitched = (189/4 )× (4/9) = 189/9 = 21

Hence,21 uniforms can be stitched from 47 ¼ m of cloth .
