• The way we feed our goldfish and maintain its tank will decide its lifespan.

• There are many different breeds of goldfish long bodied goldfish like comets have more lifespan than the fancy round bodied goldfish.

• We need to feed the goldfish with high quality food and give it a balanced diet what I mean by a balanced diet ? A balanced diet is where you feed it proper food as goldfishes are omnivores they eat both plants and worms. We need to feed it normal flake or pellet food for its normal diet which will be for most of the time. Also feeding it peas will help clear its intestine and prevent constipation feeding peas once a week will be the best. Also feeding blood worms will provide it all the proteins which is necessary however if we overfeed them blood worms they can lead to diseases like swim bladder.

• Gold fish are non stop eaters they will keep on looking for food they never stop eating unless they are sick if your goldfish is not eating while feeding this means that it is sick. They also produce a lot of feces which is why their tanks will be very messy if there is no filters.

• We need to change the water of a gold fish tank once a week to clean all the tank decorations and siphon out all the waste which can be stuck under the gravel by waste I mean uneaten food which if not cleaned out of the tank can lead to ammonia poisoning.
