compare the amount of given elements on both sides

eg. N2 + H2 =NH3

BALANCED EQUATION

N2 + 3H2 = 2NH3

In Balancing a equation we have to make the no. of atoms same on both the sides of same elements.

Example:

H2+ O2------> H2O

~ First count the no. of atoms of different elements.

          Hydrogen      Oxygen

LHS        2                      1

RHS        2                      2

The no. of hydrogen is same on both the sides but oxygen atoms are not same.

So, to balance oxygen we will apply 2 in RHS before H2O.

~ H2+ O2-----> 2H2O

But after applying 2 before H2O the no. of hydrogen atoms will become 4 on RHS.

So, to balance hydrogen on LHS we will apply 2 before H2 in LHS.

~ 2H2+ O2-----> 2H2O

Now, the whole  equation is balanced. Similarly all the equations can be balanced.

HOPE THAT HELPS U..
