India before British rule, had various practices, traditions in different regions. India comprised of many small kingdoms just before the British were introduced like mughals, Maratas, nawabs of Bengal bijapur etc nizams of Hyderabad. when British began rule India, many rights were taken away, farmers were forced to cultivate cash crops, Indian textiles ruined to European industries etc. Indian economy was effected a lot during colonial rule
