Aniline is an organic compound with C6H5NH2 formula. Aniline is the simplest aromatic amine, consisting of a group of phenyls attached to an amino group. Its main use is in the production of polyurethane precursors and other industrial chemicals.
In the presence of pyridine, first treat aniline with (CH3CO2)2O. The product will be replaced by COCH3 with one H of -NH2. Use the Nitrating mix to treat this. that is the conc. HNO3, and with it. H2SO4. Thus, the para-NO2 will be received as substituted product. The acid hydrolysis of the same product will be done to obtain 4-nitro aniline.
