how will you differentiate between a zygote and an embryo

Zygote is the fertilised egg cell but embryo is the stage at fertilization which precedes the development of the fetus .

During fertilization ,when the male gamete and the female gamete fuse,

they become one cell and hence this is the zygote.This is the first cell of any individual.

As this zygote develops and divides itself into many cells,a ball of cells is formed which results in the formation of an embryo,which is  the early developmental stage of a young one.

Zygote is unicellular.

Embryo is multicellular.
