Parallax method is an astronomical method to measure the distance along two objects which is an apparent position to the real position in respect. The diameter of the moon is to be calculated by the parallax method, by assuming two points serving as the diameter ends and define the angle made by it on earth and assume the parallel shortest distance.

Apply tangent and trigonometry to infer the finding.                      

Angle \angle AEB=\theta ; AB considered as a circular arc of radius S;  \theta=\frac { AB }{ S } ~ \sim =\frac { D }{ S }; therefore, D= Sθ.
