HCl gas dissolved in toluene does.not conduct electricity while HCl gasdissolved in water conducts electricity. ... The solution which contains free ions can conduct electricity. In water HCl ionises toform ions H+ and Cl- . Therefore HCl can conduct electricity in water butnot in toluene...
