Hydrogen has a very high calorific value and unlike petrol and diesel it is clean fuel. But it is not used as a fuel in day to day life because of the following reasons:
1.It is highly inflammable and is therefore extremely explosive
2. Its difficult to store
3. Hydrogen should be liquified to be used as fuel.
4.it does not burn at a slow rate with controlled combustion.
5. its not cheap and easily available.
